Backwater Bastards is a free “comedy improv” actual play podcast. The current campaign is called “Orbital Refuse” and utilizes a D20 based game system and world created by their DM, Dick Dynamite. Backwater Bastards is a fully edited show featuring light table talk/comedic elements and immersive roleplay scenes. Episodes are released biweekly on Thursdays. The cast are a team of international artists recording from 3 different countries, and the show hosts occasional guests from throughout the game and film art industry. Gameplay and “rule chat” is edited to create a more seamless listening experience, giving the listener more of a story-style experience affected by the mercy of intermittent dice rolls.
